So because rain was forecasted, they take the easy way out and just call off the badeball tourney for all day Thursday. We had a few light sprinkles this morning and a brief light shower that lasted 5 minutes. Currently the sun is out and I am currently watching the ACC tourney being played in Charlotte in the sunshine. Baseball could and should have been played. Nothing on their website except 2 games that were played last night are showing to be played this afternoon, What a joke. The SoCon leadership is pretty bad to say the least.

The SoCon leadership looked ahead, on Monday, at the weather forecast and made a preemptive decision to ‘get ahead’ of the predicted weather. https://soconsports.com/news/2022/5/23/ ... tered.aspx
So, they moved the 2 games that were originally scheduled for today - Games #3 & #4 back to yesterday, playing 4 games on Wednesday instead of the previously/originally scheduled 2 games on Wednesday & 2 games on Thursday.
With Mercer & Wofford possibly in contention for an NCAA Tourney at-large bid, the SoCon MUST conclude the Tournament on Sunday 5/29. Bids are released on Monday 5/30 at Noon…so the earlier Sunday, the better, FUBeAR would assume.
As we have seen in past years, when games start running behind schedule, it seems to have a snowballing effect and gets to be quite a scramble to get all the games played.
The SoCon Leadership didn’t have the benefit of 20/20 current-sight, as you now do, when they made their preemptive decision to alter the schedule. FUBeAR will always try to never be critical of leaders making reasonable proactive decisions.
* The ACC Tournament is a completely different format than the SoCon Tourney and even includes tied Teams (tourney record-wise) advancing or being eliminated based upon their original seeding. For example, if Clemson, Georgia Tech, and UNC are all in the same “pool” and they all beat each other to all finish “pool play” at 1-1, if Clemson was the highest seed of the 3, they will advance to the semi-finals, even if UNC (who will go home) beat Clemson 99-0 in their head-to-head game, but lost to GT 2-1. Sound good? Perhaps this format lends itself to more certainty of start times or in the number of ‘uncertain’ games.
