While we’re discussing nearby big conferences, I’ll bring up the SEC. In particular, USC is in the SEC of course, and I want some feedback on the board about Lanont Paris. Wow! Lamont and the Gamecocks are doing great! They would have done well to have gotten Bob Richey, and I’m thankful they did not; but they did well to get Lamont Paris.
Yes, I'm replying to my own post.
And yes, this is not about ACC.
Just noting that now 18-3 (6-2 SEC), USC has another impressive win as of last night on the road against #5 ranked Tennessee.
Increasingly, Lamont Paris continues to do very well.

Not only Paris but former Woffordite BJ Mack is one of if not the best player on S.C. Kinda agree about CU going on a run and make the tourney as their remanining 10 games besides UNC has exactly 2 teams with winning(barely)ACC records. Look for an early exit in the NCAA though. Yes the ACC is the worst its ever been. Right now Lunardi has only 3 ACC teams in the tourney including CU. If CU falters then 2.

Now 19-3, on Feb 3.
They have 9 more regular season games, with the majority at home.
We beat them 79-60 less than 15 months ago, 11/20/2022.
And Clemson beat them this season, only 2 months ago.
I do not see or hear anyone saying SEC is worst it’s ever been.
Clemson beat Alabama by 21 this season, in addition to beating USC this season.

Gamecocks are very good right now. Way better than the team that lost to Clemson in Dec.

Gamecocks should be 26-5 before the SEC tournament.

Jerry Palm on CBSSportsline has the Gamecocks and clemson matched up in round 2 in the unlikely chance they both win their 1st round games.

That would be most unfortunate for Clemson and highly fortunate (“fortuitous”?) for USC.

They made it to 25-6, not 26-5, before the SEC tournament.
NET rankings as of yesterday:
USC 47
Clemson 24
Furman 147
WCU 107
Total number of teams ranked in the NET: 362.

After yesterday, CU fell 3 spots to 27th in NET, while WF rose by 4 to 37th
USC fell (!) by 2 to 49th, while MissSt rose (!) by 3 to 39th.
FU rose by 6 to 141st, Samford rose by 4 to 75th.
WCU fell by 2 to 109th.
(And yes, of course, Columbia chickens are always good.)

Who will be the head coach at Clemson 8 weeks from now?
Brownell will be back. Clemson is getting ready to go on a run to the Big Dance. They have the pieces in place to make the Sweet 16. As for Coach Richey, I don't worry about him. He will be where God wants him to be. I just want to enjoy every minute of having him as HC at Furman. Live the moment!

As much as it pains me to say because it is about the tigers but I agree with your assessment.
How about them Tigers!

They are hard to beat when they are good and still have that horseshoe up their butt. Baylor’s 82% free throw shooter misses both that would have tied it with about 40 seconds left. Only does that against CU.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
