Florida State is doing the exact same thing with their stadium, reducing numbers to create more legroom. They don't draw the numbers they once did in the Coach Bowden years. It is still a big venue but less seats.
The Bellhops took a unique approach to this... ;)

In defense of Johnson Hagood Stadium:

1-Although 11,500 seats now, The Citadel used to have 20,000-plus seats and could fill that sucker up. They have/had really good attendance in the years past. They have a good fan base.
2-A little lead paint never hurt nobody. I've eaten a lot of paint chips off old buildings. Still do, some say.
3-Remains of the CSS Hunley crew were found under the stadium stands, creating a powerful mojo.

I prefer Paladin Stadium. Its comfy, and nice and brisk on a fall day. Its a reviewing stand of Paris Mountain. And there's a man on a horse in it.

Went by PS yesterday and the new purple seats in sections 2 and 4 have not been installed. Timmons has lots of equipment materials on hand.

Guess the pictures on social media are computer generated. I could've sworn the seats were there a month ago when I drove by....

Looking at that picture, wish the original third level of the pressbox above the field had been built and not eliminated/scaled back. It would have looked so much better/impressive.

If you go to the ticket website it shows the new configuration too so they have 3 months to get it done.

Looks like the parking lot beside Timmons(non-reserved) won’t be available this year. It is being used for a staging area for the reno. Lots of equipment and materials there now.

You sure that’s not a student protest encampment?

I am not a fan of my purple seats. I prefer my old metal bleacher.
You can move to FUBeAR’s bleacher seats in his preferred Section 5…after the 1st quarter, when FUBeAR relocates to the Wicked Weed End Zone for the balance of the afternoon…except for a sojourn to the parking lot at halftime.

I like section 5 too, plenty of room most of the time.

Metal bleachers have been removed. I wonder if they considered putting the seat backs on the bleachers in sections 1 & 5.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
