6' 11 guy from Australia
Other than the championship team that returned the entire roster from the year prior, there was always a question about who was going to be the guy once the stars left. That was JP and MF this year and they certainly did their part as they were all conference guys. I’m positive there will be some surprises and those that haven’t “proved” to be difference makers in division 1 last season will be next season.apaladin wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 1:25 pmGood point, a reality check for sure. I was thinking we have been very fortunate in recent years to have at least one or two “stars” to look forward to seeing play the upcoming season. Not this year. Of course JP and MF would have fiillec that role but they are gone. Hoping a newcomer and/or a current player will step up but of course we won’t know that until well into the season.youwouldno wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2024 12:41 pmThe current roster includes zero total players who have shown they are above average at the D-I level.
Several have the potential and there are several more roster additions to come, so there's upside, but the "current" rotation would not be at the top of the SoCon next year.
2, i believe he just played his sophomore yearDavemeister wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2024 11:26 amLooks like we bagged some Thunder from Down Under. How many years of eligibility does Johnston have?
Smith is a 6'7" forward from Huntersville, NC. He originally signed with Mercer last fall. He had offers from 8 schools including Chattanooga, Drake, Miami (O), and High Point. Since decommiting from Mercer he has also picked up an offer from College of Charleston. Looks like a solid athlete in his highlight video but is best known for his perimeter shot.
