Lol, no chance for under $1 million.

I would guess that comes in around $8-$10 million.

Also curious where you would put it

Seating capacity too large, no need for “visitor” side seating. Seating capacity, no more than 2,500.

Rugby is in a prime location for club sport. Would move Rugby over to other side of campus and make that Lax field. Would be relaitively inexpensive as field is already there. Need some stands and press box, maybe some bathrooms and game day lockers

Something like new soccer offices would do it

That is a 4000 seat stadium. I think it cost them $5M to bring it up to this condition. It looks bigger than Notre Dame’s 4500 seat place (I think ND is counting the grass seating on 3 sides). ND is #1, there is nothing to do in South Bend, their student body is 5 times bigger than ours, and even they get buy with a very simple 4500 seat place. I think 1000 seats would be fine for us.

Was there an announcement or communication about a new LAX faculty for the women?

After some SD research, you could literary slap some lines on the rugby field, build a high school like bleecher and press box on one side of the field, put a fence up all around and have a Lax facility better than 80% of the college fields in existence!

That rugby field is on a prime location.. wonder how long thats gonna last

Rugby has a pretty fervent following.

I wonder if there is any way to share a women's lax facility with a rugby pitch. Would not take much to upgrade some bleachers and make a really nice field look a little nicer.

I played lacrosse at Furman and we used the Rugby field for practice and at least one game. It was not suitable as is, would need much more work to make it usable.
1. Rugby goalposts are 100 meters apart, and a lacrosse field is 120 yards long. The goal posts were literally on the endline and field shortened (it was club) and players could knock into them. In fact, we had a strategy to use them as a pick type position which was not appreciated by referees. (Goal posts would have to be removable)
2. The crease (goalie area) in lacrosse is extremely heavy traffic. This causes a literal crease and divot in the middle of the field around each goal. For this reason, soccer absolutely hates sharing lacrosse fields and I would assume the same for Rugby. (Would require a high performance field turf)

A rugby field is larger, so that area is suitable for lacrosse. And the little existing stands are very nice, a good start. However, it just seems half assed to share a NCAA Div 1 field with a purpose built club field.

Rugby literally built that (field and team) from the ground up, they deserve it.
