ETSU is playing the same team Mercer played last week (right now espn+). Austin P. good scouting stuff
Indeed
right AP beat Mercer in a high-scoring affair where AP DL shut down run of Mercer and got to RIddle. Our O was better than AP. if that helps in comparison

I think ETSU is going to be a bit like Mercer, but with a better defense. Austin Peay had big win against the Bears, but the margin was skewed a bit by two pick sixes.

Yes, first scout (is rare you get a non-conference team who played both our opponents the week before! conference yes, but FCS non-conference to watch and scout is odd and nice)
AP beat Mercer 48-34 in a game of 3 turnovers by Mercer and a punt block too (-3 or -4 turnover ration working against Mercer)... and two of the APy went for pick six
ETSU beat AP (and I am glad they did for SoCon status) 20-14 in a defensive battle. Pick sixes or no (vs Mercr) ETSU clearly played w more defensive gusto than Mercer did. Not surprising as they have preseason D player of year in Nasir Little a 6'5 DL who might get NFL looks. ETSU did lose to VMI in a shocker in OT the week before .

The fact is "revenge" games rarely turn out in favor of the revenging team and second it is just a fan thing. The team probably doesn't even think about it at least I hope they don't.

Does not change the fact that we are out for revenge in a game that we lead 27-6 and totally blew, which kept us from winning the SoCon outright and getting the auto-bid into the playoffs

LEAVE NO DOUBT

Revenge to me means getting back at a team because they stole it from us or got lucky. Neither of those happened. We laid an egg. We just need to focus on this year and kick their butts. Furman by 30.

ETSU will come in already on their heels because they know they are going to get bitch slapped. There will be no let up. There will be no mercy.

They got lucky that we let up on them last year, the strangeness of the lightning delay was a part of that and our own mental toughness was also not where it needed to be to finish off an inferior team, won't happen again, revenge will be sweet!

ETSU stole an undeserved spot in the 2018 Playoffs when FU deserved to be there. The way FUBeAR sees it, they stole that spot from us!

R-E-V-E-N-G-E it is!

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
