I made this thread at around this time last year, so here are my current thoughts. Obviously, things will change as each school in the SoCon will gain players from the portal, and Samford may lose some players.

My Way-too-early SoCon rankings for next year:

Tier 1: Contenders
1. Samford
2. Chattanooga

Tier 2: Could be dangerous
3. UNCG
4. ETSU
5. Wofford

Tier 3: Has some work to do
6. Furman
7. Western Carolina

Tier 4: Bottom feeders
8. Mercer
9. The Citadel
10. VMI

SoCon award predictions
POTY: Achor Achor (Samford), Honor Huff (UTC)
Coach of the Year: Brooks Savage, ETSU
Newcomer of the year: No clue

1st team all-SoCon
Honor Huff (UTC)
A.J. Staton-McCray (Samford)
Donavan Atwell (UNC Greensboro)
Jaden Seymour (ETSU)
Kyler Filewich (Wofford)

I probably know nothing. Oh well.

Unfortunately I think WC is a team to watch out for. They were very young, improved during the year, beat Sammy by 30.

now that Dins appear to be close to done...

verbal commits has a metric called RPS - recruit power score, something like that

Currently Dins lead the Socon at 3.65. Sammy is at 3.64. All others are not close

Just for reference, Davy is at 3.68

Wouldn't be too surprised to see another Furman portal entry or two before Wed. I know nothing, but with our new signers......who knows??

You could be right, but doubtful. The two redshirts will get their chance they have waited for. Don’t see Pjay, Hein, Bowser or Vanderwal leaving. Molnar does not have the resume, that leaves Huey and he is doubtful with a limited resume.

Very doubtful Hughey would leave at this stage. Plus, he played HS ball with Sullinger so should be a strong connection there. I think we have a really good chance to be a good team next year if the chemistry comes together. Having Hien, Bowser, Hughey, Johnston, and Vanderwal down low should be a much stronger frontcourt. Sullinger, PJ, House, Bronson, and Anderson are all shooters. Really looking forward to the season but a lot of work to do.

GoPaladins.com is the latest iteration of The Unofficial Furman Football Page. Launched in August of 1996, The UFFP welcomes fans of all FCS football teams - and fans of the more inferior sports, too - for discussion, cameraderie, and even the occasional smack talk.

For example, Furman has nearly twice as many Southern Conference football championships as the next best SoCon member, and over three times as many as The Citadel....which is why they must carry our luggage
