Zimmerman started tonight for the USA in their World Cup qualification round game against Jamaica. The USA won 2-0 to move, at least temporarily, into first place in the standings.
Solid game for Zimmerman. In the latter part of the second half he was given the Captain's armband after a substitution. Nice honor.

How to enjoy Furman Sports on a lovely Sunday afternoon here in LA ? Watching Z-man and his man-bun go up against LAFC. Yes, aPaladin, at the half it’s 0-0, but it’s still The Beautiful Game.

My understanding of this was that the US Soccer authorities offered the men and women a choice of pay plans that were identical but the women chose one that paid more money up front and more guaranteed money and the men picked a plan with less guaranteed money but a bigger potential final payout based on results. After a while some of the women realized that they would end up with less money in the long run and began complaining that it wasn't fair.
Women players got what they agreed to. Play out the remainder of the contract and renegotiate.
They sued, other side settled…appears they won.

I was proudly pointing out to my son during the game today that Walker Zimmerman is a Furman product. Tough game for him on the world stage…yikes.
